Starting in the impressive mountain Moorish stronghold of Casares, holding still intact 13th century battlements of the Moorish castle! With its narrow cobbled streets it’s a classic rustic pueblos blancos (white village.) From the Mirador del Castillon we have incredible views of Griffon vultures gliding with far reaching views towards the rock of Gibraltar and the Riff mountains of Morocco. This wild region rising above the Genal valley has some of the most spectacular wilderness views!

•Hiking shoes or trail running trainers.•Small rucksack to carry water (minimum 2 litre water bottle) and lunch pack. •Try and travel light, I use a 4K GoPro 5 which takes excellent professional photos and videos throughout the trek.
